Locked in: What to do when you didn’t escape

By Leslie Kell

Everyone who books an escape room walks in with the hope that they will escape in time feeling accomplished and successful. The reality is, escape rooms are challenging, and they are specifically designed that way to encourage out-of-the-box thinking and creativity; which means that not everyone escapes! So here are a few things to take away from when you experience a loss in the escape room.

The Satisfaction of a New Experience

If you just played your first ever escape room and lost, you can always walk away with the satisfaction of the new adventure! You took a step out of your comfort zone and played your first escape room, and challenged yourself to think in a creatively different way!

Fun & Unique Experiences

We at Epic Escape work hard to ensure that every player’s experience is ‘one for the books.’ We want you to be able to walk away knowing that you had an awesome time with your team and enjoyed every unique part that was involved in the room and hopefully you got to see something that you never expected to happen!

The clues you found & the Puzzles you solved

Every escape room is different and that means you’ll encounter so many different puzzles and riddles and things you never saw coming! We tell our customers time and time again that just because something was the wrong answer in the first room you did, doesn’t mean it will be wrong in the next room. Likewise, just because it was the right answer in one room, doesn’t mean it’s right in the other. So, you can take your thought process from one room, and add it to your new experience so then you can escape the next room you play! That being said, you may also find similarities in puzzles, so if you remember the puzzles you encountered in the first room, they may come in handy in the next one! Don’t be afraid to give it another shot!

All that to say, don’t take it hard if you’ve lost the escape room. Remember that escape rooms are meant to be challenging and meant to test your skills. Plus, you might win the next room you play because you’d be walking in with further knowledge of escape rooms and puzzles. At Epic Escape, we have over 40 different rooms to attempt, between all 11 locations; that’s plenty of rooms to attempt and test your luck! The next thing to keep in mind is that it’s all about fun with family and friends in a unique and unforgettable experience that you can’t find anywhere else! Book your next room today!
